When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
High School
How long does it take you to write this book?
A little over a year.
What was your
inspiration for this book?
I was at a book club meeting and the ladies in the
group spoke passionately on the subject
of domestic
violence. And that's when the concept for Sherri's
Song developed.
When did you write
your first book and how old were you?
I wrote my first book at the age of 35.
What do you like to do
when you're not writing?
Video
games, surf the net and act silly chatting
online.
What was one of the most surprising things you
learned
in creating your books?
I learned that I'm another person when I'm writing. I
know more words than I thought I
did. And I become my characters in the sense that I am emotionally bonded with them at times.
How many books
have you written? Which is your
favorite?
Two with a third near completion. My favorite is
Sherri's Song. But
my best is The Gifted Child, John's
Saga, because it's filled with so much emotion.
Are you currently working
on anything?
I've laid the groundwork for four new books.
Do you have any advice for up and coming authors?
Everybody
is not going to like or appreciate your
work. Take criticism with a grain of salt. Surround
yourself with
positive people and don't let negativety
deter you from your dream.
